A Very Happy Anniversary!

I’m so happy to say that today is my second wedding anniversary! Two whole years have passed since Jeremy and I said “I DO!” It’s been such a fun and fabulous journey so far. I look forward to many, many more years to come!

We were married in a small, intimate ceremony at the Parkview Terrace in City Park in New Orleans on a beautiful, sunny and cool Saturday afternoon.  The park provided a lovely natural backdrop for our photos.

To keep our anniversary day an extra special day year after year, we’ve decided that we’re going to go on a vacation or small trip each year to commemorate the day.  I think it’s a really cool idea and frankly, going on vacation in early April each year is pretty nice!

Our 1st Annual Honeymoon

Our first year was our honeymoon, of course. We took a driving tour of the Southwestern USA. We visited nine national parks in a two-week period. In the photo below we’re just finishing our 25-mile, three-day hike in the Grand Canyon. We had a great time but were totally exhausted in the picture below.

Our 2nd Annual Honeymoon

For our first anniversary (second annual honeymoon), we took a trip down and across the globe to Cape Town, South Africa and its environs. Below we’re at the Cape of Good Hope, all the way on the most south-western point of the African continent. Nothing between us and Antarctica but lots of ocean!

Our 3rd Annual Honeymoon

This year we’re doing a smaller trip up to the Forest Retreat in the Homochitto National Forest, in between McComb and Natchez, MS. We’re currently cut off from outside world communication for two days, and we’re getting to explore all the natural beauty that a secluded place like Forest Retreat has to offer. Highly relaxing and rejuvenating! {I wrote this post over the weekend so I’m not cheating and pirating internet or anything}

I hope you’re all having a great Tuesday! I know I am, and I look forward to sharing photos upon our return!!

    Happy Anniversary! Anniversary trip is a great idea, we’ve been doing it, every year, too. And it doesn’t always have to be a grand adventure. Lot’s of good place out there close by.

      That’s for sure. :) This year a grand trip wasn’t in the cards but the little getaway was so cool! Glad to know we’re not the only ones keeping the anniversary special!

    How cute are you two?! Love it. And South Africa has been on my list for years, the closest I’ve gotten is Morocco (not very close!)
